SHFC, LGU Lavezares partner for socialized housing project for 1,600 families

MUCH-AWAITED HOUSING PROJECT FOR ISLAND BARANGAYS: Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), the lead government agency mandated to undertake socialized housing for low-income families, has sealed a joint partnership with the local government of Lavezares in Northern Samar for the implementation of the Community Mortgage Program in the municipality.

SHFC President Atty. Arnolfo Ricardo Cabling and Mayor Edito Saludaga inked the agreement in a virtual ceremony held on February 11. Under the deal, SHFC will finance the lot acquisition, site development, and construction of housing units for 1,600 families from the island barangays of the town.

In the light of the pandemic, SHFC continues with the provision of adequate housing, which has become even more crucial now given that viruses spread fast in congested informal settlements.
